So you wanna go rogue, aye? Making your own rat treats can be quite rewarding and fun! Use this batter recipe – then add your own rat-safe fruits or vegetables!
What You’ll Need
For this batter, we are using quinoa flour. It is gluten free and includes a protein punch. It’s very easy to bake with, and you don’t need much.
- 1 Egg
- 4 TBS Quinoa Flour
- 1/4 Water
- 1/2 tsp. Olive Oil
- Dash of Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. Crushed Rosemary (natural and safe preservative)
[makes about 1/2 cup of batter]

Whisk all the ingredients together.
Try doubling the recipe!
Add fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, make sure they are rat safe. Here is a list of approved human foods.
You may need to adjust the recipe if you are adding fruits and veggies.
